Type: Intern → Full-time

Duration: 3–6 months

Start: Immediate

If 60+ hour weeks across global timelines don't scare you, and winning matters more to you than work-life balance, and you want to be pushed hard toward greatness, read further.

About the Role

We build the intelligence layer of an AI-native data platform for US healthcare enterprises.

We are looking for an AI Research Engineer Intern who will work directly with the founding engineering team. You will own real problems, ship to production, and be held to the same standard as full-time engineers.

This is a 3–6 month intern-to-hire pathway. High performers transition to a full-time AI Research Engineer role.

What You'll Actually Work On

  • Building and debugging multi-step AI agents with tool use, memory, and state management
  • Designing and running ML experiments from hypothesis to evaluation to production decision
  • Implementing model pipelines: data ingestion, preprocessing, training, evaluation, inference
  • Working with structured tabular datasets, including schema inference, feature engineering, and distribution analysis
  • Evaluating model outputs rigorously on accuracy, fidelity, calibration, and failure modes
  • Reading research papers and translating them into working implementations within days, not weeks
  • Rapid prototyping of new AI capabilities directly tied to customer problems

Required Skills

  • Strong programming ability in Python
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and backend engineering fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience building ML or deep learning models
  • Familiarity with PyTorch, Pandas, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or similar tooling
  • Experience working with LangGraph or LangChain, LLM APIs, embeddings, RAG pipelines, or agent frameworks
  • Experience building AI agents, automation systems, or ML pipelines
  • Understanding of neural networks, training workflows, inference, and evaluation concepts
  • Familiarity with APIs, async programming, or backend system integration
  • Comfortable reading research papers and implementing ideas into working systems

Strong Signals

  • Public GitHub repositories showing serious AI/ML projects
  • Experience training or fine-tuning models
  • Experience building agent systems or automation workflows
  • Projects involving deep learning, embeddings, RAG, or model evaluation
  • Participation in hackathons, open-source contributions, or research projects
  • Experience deploying or working with production AI systems

Who Should Apply

  • 2025 or 2026 graduates in Computer Science / AI / Machine Learning only
  • Engineers who enjoy building systems and experimenting with models
  • Candidates who have built serious AI projects outside coursework
  • Self-driven learners who want to become strong AI engineers

Important

We strongly prefer candidates who can show real work in public GitHub repo.

Applications without GitHub or project links will not be reviewed.
