The Opportunity Alesa Ai is looking for a dedicated, technically proficient AI Prompt Engineer Intern to join our UK-based team. This is not a shadowing role—you will be working 30–40 hours per week on mission-critical projects focusing on prompt architecture, model orchestration, and image generation pipelines. Our goal is simple: We want to train you over the next 6 months to become a permanent, full-time member of our AI development team.
Internship Structure & Compensation This is a 6-month commitment designed as a performance-based trial:
- Month 1 - 3: Probation and Trial Period (Unpaid).
- Months 4 – 6: Potential for a merit-based stipend (Contingent on a 3-month performance levels and meeting KPIs).
- The End Goal: A permanent, paid job offer for candidates who meet our standards of excellence at the conclusion of the 6 months.
- Terms of Retention: Continued participation is strictly dependent on meeting attendance, professional communication, and the timely execution of complex AI workflows and prompt evaluations.
The Tech Stack You will be working across our proprietary AI stack:
- AI Orchestration: Groq integration for low-latency inference, model-to-model communication.
- Prompt Engineering: High-precision, chain-of-thought, and system-prompt architecture.
- Image Generation: Diffusion-based models and workflow integration for high-fidelity assets.
- AI Workflows: Development and maintenance of complex, multi-stage agentic workflows.
Internship Responsibilities
- Prompt Architecture: Designing, testing, and refining system prompts to optimise model output quality and reliability.
- Groq Integration: Implementing and maintaining low-latency model inference pipelines via Groq.
- Image Generation Pipelines: Developing and integrating stable diffusion workflows to automate asset creation.
- Workflow Logic: Constructing and debugging complex AI workflows that link multiple LLMs and data sources.
- Evaluation & Testing: Running rigorous benchmarks to evaluate model performance and output consistency.
- Collaboration: Working directly with senior developers to ensure our AI applications behave predictably and efficiently.
Applicant Requirements (Must Haves)
- Prompt Engineering Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to engineer complex system prompts; understanding of token limits, temperature settings, and output structure.
- LLM Architecture: Solid understanding of how different models process instructions and structure data.
- Image Generation: Practical experience with diffusion models (Stable Diffusion, etc.) and prompt-to-image workflows.
- AI Workflow Logic: Ability to design logical flowcharts and state machines for agentic AI processes.
- Commitment: Ability to work 30–40 hours per week (Full-Time equivalent).
- Professionalism: Independent problem-solving skills and strict adherence to deadlines.
- Communication: Native or bilingual-level proficiency in written UK English and consistent meeting attendance.
Bonus Skills
- Coding: Proficiency in Python or JavaScript (for API calls and backend automation).
- API Integration: Direct experience working with OpenAI, Anthropic, or Groq APIs.
- Version Control: Experience using Git/GitHub to manage prompt iterations and project code.
