The Idea
Optima is building an AI-native wealth experience that has to raise the premium bar in a category that has never competed on product. The traditional structure - PM specs, designer renders, engineer builds - is how most product ends up mediocre; every handoff compresses what started as a sharper idea. Our bet: one head holding product judgment, design fluency, and engineering depth, with AI-native tooling collapsing the distance from idea to shipped thing, ships premium work at a speed and coherence that three specialists cannot match. Role Description
We are recruiting a AI-Native Product Builder to tackle product surfaces end-to-end (product enough to pick the right problem + design enough to hold a premium bar + technical enough to ship it under real constraints):
- Own surfaces from spec to shipped: take ambiguous problems (a new acquisition experience, a new agent capability, a client onboarding flow) through deciding what to build → designing how it feels → engineering how it works → instrumenting what matters → iterating on what the data shows
- Treat design as a first-class craft: visual language, interaction feel, narrative pacing, system thinking are not just decoration
- Build with growth in the room: Optima's primary acquisition and retention engine is the product itself; conversion, shareability, activation, and retention are first-order inputs to what you design, not someone else's downstream problem
- Extend naturally into internal agentic workflows: when you notice that client onboarding prep, compliance drafting, or operational context construction for the client-facing team should be automated, you build the system that does it
Who This Is For
- You have 4+ years shipping production software end-to-end at product-driven companies where craft was the competitive edge
- You've been the person doing 2-3 of product + design + engineering at once and have outgrown titles that capture only one
- Your best work ships: the feature you specced and designed and built, the internal tool you shipped because no one else would, the interaction nobody believed would work until you made it
- You find finance interesting enough that regulatory complexity and operational mess read as constraints to absorb on behalf of the user, not friction to push downstream; you take pride in making a client's life lighter by carrying the hard parts yourself
- Outcomes (driven by taste and agency) matter more than pedigree
- Or something untraditional that trumps all of the above
