Role Description
This is a 3-month, full-time remote internship for an AI/ML Intern. The intern will work closely with the core AI team to design, build, and optimize multimodal knowledge pipelines and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and experimenting with RAG architectures using text, documents, and multimodal inputs (audio/video where applicable)
- Building and evaluating embedding, retrieval, and reranking pipelines
- Preprocessing and structuring diverse data sources for knowledge ingestion
- Experimenting with vector databases and retrieval strategies to improve accuracy, relevance, and latency
- Testing and optimizing model performance, grounding, and hallucination reduction
- Researching emerging techniques in multimodal AI, LLMs, and knowledge systems
- Collaborating with product and engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into real products
- Documenting experiments, insights, and presenting findings to the broader team
Qualifications
Required
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, NLP concepts, and deep learning
- Hands-on familiarity with LLMs and RAG workflows (embeddings, retrieval, generation)
- Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn
- Knowledge of data preprocessing, evaluation metrics, and experimentation
- Strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Good to Have
- Experience with vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Milvus, Qdrant, Pinecone, Weaviate)
- Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar RAG frameworks
- Exposure to multimodal models (text + audio/video/image)
- Prior projects involving knowledge bases, chatbots, or AI assistants
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related fields
