Senior AI/ML Engineer - IC3
Oracle Healthcare Data Intelligence | SafetyOne Platform
About Oracle Healthcare Data Intelligence
Oracle Healthcare Data Intelligence (HDI) is at the forefront of leveraging data and AI to transform the healthcare and life sciences industries. Our SafetyOne platform uses agentic AI, generative models, NLP, and LLMs to automate pharmacovigilance workflows. We're developing multi-agent systems that handle case processing, medical coding, and safety signal detection-with appropriate human oversight and regulatory guardrails.
The Opportunity
We're hiring a Senior AI/ML Engineer (IC3) to build and deploy AI models for SafetyOne's pharmacovigilance platform. You'll develop production systems that extract entities from adverse event reports, assist with medical coding and causality assessment, and generate clinical narratives.
You'll work on LLM-based solutions and RAG pipelines, collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver AI capabilities at scale. This role focuses on taking AI models from concept to production, ensuring they perform reliably in a regulated healthcare environment.
Career Level: IC3
What You'll Do
Model Development and Innovation
Develop and deploy LLM and NLP models for pharmacovigilance-specific tasks
Build and optimize RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines for document processing and Q&A systems
Develop and iterate agentic workflows (e.g., using modular AI frameworks) to support complex safety use cases
Work with vector databases and semantic search systems to support intelligent document retrieval
Adapt and integrate pre-trained models for pharmacovigilance use cases
Evaluation and Quality Assurance
Develop evaluation frameworks to measure model performance on pharmacovigilance-specific metrics
Conduct performance analysis and error analysis on model outputs
Implement guardrails and validation checks to ensure clinical accuracy
Work with domain experts to validate model outputs and refine approaches
Participate in continuous model improvement based on production feedback
Deployment & Operations
Deploy models to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) using containerization and MLOps best practices
Build monitoring and observability systems for production AI models
Support model versioning, A/B testing, and gradual rollouts
Troubleshoot production issues and optimize model performance
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into SafetyOne workflows
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
Partner with product managers, software engineers, and UX designers to deliver AI features
Work with pharmacovigilance subject matter experts to understand requirements
