Role Overview
We are seeking an AI EDA Applications Engineer to drive the adoption of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) within Electronic Design Automation (EDA) workflows. This role combines deep expertise in semiconductor design tools with AI technologies to develop intelligent engineering assistants, automate design tasks, improve productivity, and optimize RTL, verification, physical design, DFT, and signoff workflows.
The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience with industry-leading EDA tools from Cadence, Synopsys, or Siemens EDA, along with practical knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, and Python-based automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI-powered applications that enhance semiconductor design and verification workflows.
- Design and implement Generative AI solutions for RTL development, Physical Design, Verification, DFT, and signoff activities.
- Build AI assistants capable of understanding engineering documentation, design specifications, EDA reports, and design constraints.
- Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) with semiconductor design environments using APIs and automation frameworks.
- Develop intelligent copilots to assist engineers with debugging, scripting, documentation, and design optimization.
- Automate repetitive engineering tasks using Python, AI agents, and workflow orchestration tools.
- Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems for semiconductor design knowledge management.
- Develop AI solutions that analyze timing reports, synthesis logs, DRC/LVS reports, power analysis, and verification results.
- Collaborate with RTL, Physical Design, Verification, DFT, CAD, and EDA teams to identify AI automation opportunities.
- Integrate AI applications with Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens EDA, GitHub, Jira, and enterprise engineering platforms.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend their application within semiconductor development environments.
- Support deployment, validation, and continuous improvement of AI-enabled engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related discipline.
- 5 15 years of experience in semiconductor design, CAD, EDA, or applications engineering.
- Strong understanding of ASIC design methodology and semiconductor design lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major EDA tool ecosystem (Cadence, Synopsys, or Siemens EDA).
- Experience developing automation using Python or similar scripting languages.
- Practical exposure to Generative AI, LLMs, or AI-powered software development.
