Job Title: AI DevOps Engineer, AVP

Location: Pune, India

Role Description

• This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join a dynamic, agile, and collaborative engineering team that is transforming Deutsche Bank through Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, automation, and modern cloud technologies.
• The candidate will work closely with experienced engineers and technology colleagues across TDI to design and deploy AI driven solutions, capture stakeholder requirements, contribute to design documentation, and support the development, compliance, and operationalisation of new Agentic AI use cases.
• The DevOps AI Engineer is responsible for designing and configuring secure and scalable GCP landing zones, managing cloud services, implementing infrastructure as code with Terraform, and building CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.
• The role includes developing Python based automation and ETL workflows, integrating with REST APIs and webhooks, managing containers on Docker, GKE, and OpenShift, and monitoring applications and infrastructure to support SLO, SLI, and SLA targets.
• The candidate will design and implement agentic workflows, build MCP servers and clients, extend Python services with FastAPI, perform prompt engineering, integrate retrieval using vector based RAG and structured knowledge sources, and produce technical documentation such as runbooks and architectural diagrams while collaborating closely with developers, architects, and security teams in an Agile environment.

Your key responsibilities

• Landing Zone Design and Implementation: Design and manage GCP, GKE, and GitHub based landing zones using Terraform on Google Cloud Platform. Ensure that all environments for AI workloads are secure, scalable, and aligned with internal governance and compliance requirements.
• CI/CD Engineering and Automation: Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions. Enable reliable development, testing, and deployment workflows for AI and ML applications with a focus on consistency, automation, and operational efficiency.
• AI Deployment: Plan and perform production deployments of AI models. Ensure system robustness and stability across diverse cloud production environments.
• Observability, Reliability, and Drift Management: Monitor system, agent, and model performance and maintain high reliability of AI services. Apply proactive observability practices and drive incident management activities for AI systems at scale.
• Platform Integration and Engineering: Integrate MCP servers, develop Python based tools, ETL pipelines, and microservices. Streamline the provisioning and orchestration of AI agents across OpenShift and Google Kubernetes Engine to support consistent platform wide operations.
• Standards & Compliance: Serve as the subject matter expert for the deployed AI service implementation, ensuring all solutions strictly adhere to Deutsche Bank's internal technology standards, security policies, and critical regulatory guidelines (e.g., GDPR, EU AI Act, etc.).

Your skills and experience

• At least 10 years of experience in DevOps, AI, data analytics, or AI related engineering projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, combined with strong stakeholder management abilities.
• Ethical awareness and a strong commitment to responsible AI adoption in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands on experience with Python, Google ADK, GCP, DevOps toolchains, MCP, Machine Learning, GitHub, Terraform, and microservice design and deployment.
• Proven expertise in designing and configuring secure, scalable cloud environments including GCP landing zones, IAM, VPCs, firewall rules, secret management, and certificate handling.
• Strong proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, managing Helm charts and Artifactory artifacts, and implementing automation and ETL workflows in Python and Bash.
• Deep experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Google Kubernetes Engine, and OpenShift including workload deployment, scaling, and ongoing operations.
• Practical experience in developing agentic workflows including prompt engineering, FastAPI based microservices, MCP servers and clients, REST API integrations, and retrieval with vector or structured knowledge sources.
