About the Role

Poly & Bark, a fast-growing direct-to-consumer furniture brand, is hiring an AI Developer to design and build internal software systems and layer AI capabilities on top of them. This is a full development role spanning frontend, backend, and automation — not a limited scripting position.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features on our headless Hydrogen/Shopify storefront, including custom React components and Oxygen deployments
• Build and extend internal ERP-style applications from scratch
• Design backend logic including APIs, webhooks, and database structures
• Build automation systems using Google Apps Script, Airtable, and Python integrated with Shopify and shipping carrier APIs
• Develop and maintain Node/Express services deployed on Railway
• Identify opportunities to apply AI/LLM capabilities to internal tools, including data parsing, decision logic, and natural-language interfaces
• Own projects end-to-end with minimal oversight

Requirements

• Hands-on coding experience across frontend and backend development (React, Node, Python, or similar)
• Required: hands-on experience with Shopify, specifically headless storefronts built on Hydrogen
• Experience building or maintaining integrations with third-party APIs
• Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or ERP-style applications
• Strong self-direction and ability to manage projects independently
• Genuine interest in AI/LLM technology and its practical business applications
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
