About MBRDI:
Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), headquartered in Bengaluru with a satellite office in Pune, is the largest R&D center for Mercedes-Benz Group AG outside of Germany. Our mission is to drive innovation and excellence in automotive engineering, digitalization, and sustainable mobility solutions, shaping the future of mobility.
About the Role
We are looking for a Data Scientist who is highly skilled in Python, Large Language Models (LLMs), Orchestrator Frameworks, and Multi-Agent Systems to build scalable, enterprise-grade AI solutions. The ideal candidate is hands-on, can convert real-world business problems into AI-driven workflows, and is comfortable working across cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
Key Responsibilities
1. AI/ML & LLM Development
Build, fine-tune, and optimize LLM-based applications using open-source and proprietary models.
Implement prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and evaluation pipelines.
Develop multi-agentic systems with logical coordination, communication flows, and tool integrations.
2. Multi-Agent & Orchestration Frameworks
Design AI workflows using LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or equivalent orchestrator frameworks.
Implement autonomous agents, tool-calling strategies, memory modules, and context management.
Build scalable agent-to-agent communication pipelines for enterprise use cases.
3. Data Engineering & Applied Science
Build robust data ingestion, processing, and feature engineering workflows in Python.
Perform applied ML research and experimentation for structured, unstructured & multimodal data.
Create data-driven insights, predictive models, and performance reports.
4. Software Engineering & Version Control
Write clean, modular, production-ready Python code with strong software engineering discipline.
Use Git/GitHub for versioning, branching, reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams for integration and deployment.
5. Cloud Services & Enterprise Deployment
Develop and deploy AI services on Azure App Service, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Azure OpenAI, and Azure Storage.
Work with scalable architectures: microservices, serverless, containerized (Docker) applications.
Ensure enterprise-grade security, compliance, logging, monitoring, and observability.
6. AI Agents & Autonomous Workflows
Design agent-based solutions for automation, RAG, decision-making, and workflow execution.
Implement multi-agent architectures that utilize planning, reasoning, tool usage, and memory.
Integrate agents with enterprise apps, APIs, Databricks, ADLS, n8n, or custom AI tools.
7. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with product owners, architects, and business stakeholders.
Translate business requirements into technical solutions and present AI-driven proposals.
Document architecture, workflows, and model behaviors with clarity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
57 years of experience in AI/ML, Applied Data Science, or related fields.
Advanced proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, FastAPI, Async frameworks preferred).
Strong experience with Git, GitHub workflows, and collaborative development.
Hands-on with LLMs (GPT, Llama, Mistral, Claude, etc.), RAG pipelines, and embeddings.
Proficient in LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or similar agent frameworks.
Experience building AI Agents and Multi-Agent Systems.
Strong understanding of software scalability, distributed systems, and enterprise patterns.
Practical knowledge of Azure cloud services or other major cloud providers.
Familiar with Docker, APIs, microservices, and REST/GraphQL integrations.
Exposure to MLOps, CI/CD, monitoring tools, and production workflows.
Good to Have
Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) for agent-based tooling.
Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and enterprise data platforms.
Experiment tracking (MLflow), vector databases (Pinecone/FAISS), or Neo4j.
Experience with autonomous workflow tools like n8n, Airflow, or Temporal.
