Why
Everyone worries about the dooms-day in climate change which is expected to occur in the 2050s. However, there's one doom's day which is the reality for millions of people around the world today. Air pollution takes more than 7 Million lives globally every single year. Over 5% of premature children death occur due to air pollution in developing countries. Everyone has relied on governments or experts to solve the problem, but most solutions up until today have either been too expensive or too ineffective. Praan is an attempt at making the future cleaner, healthier, and safer for the generations to come.
Job Description
- Lead the development of applied AI systems across Praan's ecosystem, enabling intelligent insights from spatial, environmental and behavioral data
- Design and build computer vision pipelines for indoor mapping, scene understanding and spatial modeling
- Explore and implement approaches across 3D vision, SLAM, and AR-based systems for real-world spatial applications
- Develop machine learning models and inference systems using sensor and wearable data to generate contextual and actionable insights
- Work on multimodal systems combining environmental, spatial and behavioral datasets to power intelligent product experiences
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI systems including design, training, testing, deployment and optimization in production environments
- Evaluate and implement tradeoffs between cloud and edge inference, ensuring performance, latency and efficiency targets are met
- Integrate AI pipelines into backend systems and product workflows, ensuring scalability and reliability
- Drive feasibility analysis and architecture decisions for new AI capabilities across products
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, backend and product teams to ensure cohesive system design and execution
- Continuously improve model performance, robustness, and deployment efficiency for real-world conditions
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building strong AI engineering practices and culture
- Develop and maintain clear documentation for models, systems and technical decisions to support scalability and knowledge sharing
Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI, or a related field
- 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in applied machine learning or computer vision
- Strong fundamentals in computer vision and machine learning concepts and techniques
- Proven experience building, deploying, and maintaining models in production environments
- Strong programming skills in Python with experience in frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Hands-on experience with OpenCV and practical computer vision pipelines
- Experience designing and implementing real-world solutions beyond experimental prototypes
- Strong problem-solving ability with systems thinking and first-principles approach
- Ability to balance research depth with practical product constraints and timelines
- Experience in areas such as 3D vision, SLAM, or spatial computing is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with AR frameworks such as ARKit or ARCore is a plus
- Experience with on-device machine learning, model optimization, and edge AI deployment is beneficial
- Exposure to multimodal learning systems, robotics, or perception systems is a plus
- Prior experience working in startup environments or building zero-to-one products is advantageous
