Job Description

Broad Role / Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution and monitoring of large Government AI compute / cloud / digital infrastructure programmes in line with approved scope, timelines and budgets.
  • Establish and run a Programme Management Office (PMO) for AI compute initiatives, including project planning, tracking, governance and reporting.
  • Develop detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, roadmaps and interdependency maps across multiple workstreams and vendors.
  • Coordinate across Government stakeholders, technology partners, system integrators, cloud providers and other ecosystem players for smooth execution.
  • Facilitate decision-making by preparing issue notes, concept notes, options analyses, presentations and status updates for senior officials.
  • Define and institutionalise governance frameworks, review mechanisms, escalation paths and documentation standards for the programme.
  • Track milestones, deliverables, risks and dependencies; implement risk mitigation, issue resolution and change management processes.
  • Ensure adherence to Government policies, guidelines, procurement norms and standards related to IT, cloud, data and security.
  • Support preparation and review of RFPs/RFIs, evaluation processes and contract finalisation from a programme management standpoint.
  • Monitor vendor performance against contractual obligations and SLAs; drive corrective actions and performance improvements.
  • Prepare regular MIS, dashboards and progress reports for leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, risks and way forward.
  • Drive outcome-focused execution, ensuring that the programme meets its objectives in terms of capacity, utilisation, user adoption and impact.

Broad Experience & Expertise Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years of professional experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing large Government technology programmes, such as national platforms, large IT infrastructure, cloud or data centre programmes, e-governance or digital public infrastructure projects.

Educational Qualifications (essential)

  • B.E./B.Tech or Master's Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics / Management (or equivalent).

Certification

  • Any relevant certification will be an added advantage.
