A multi-strategy investment firm is Looking for:
AI Automation Engineer / Operator
Overview
We are seeking a highly capable AI Automation Engineer / Operator to serve as a core technical builder within our team. This individual will work hands-on with the (i) investment team as well as (ii) leadership across our portfolio companies to design, build, and deploy AI-powered systems that automate workflows, enhance decision-making, and accelerate execution.
This is not a traditional engineering role. The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder who can translate business problems into working AI solutions using modern tools, APIs, and agent-based architectures. You will support software and AI automation builds across core investment workflows as well as operational and technical workflows at portfolio companies on a project basis. This person ideally also has some pre-existing financial knowledge and (if not) a desire to learn about business and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build AI-driven workflows and agents to automate business processes
- Integrate and manage LLM APIs into production use cases
- Develop and maintain API integrations across internal tools and third-party platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand workflows and identify automation opportunities
- Build and deploy agent-based systems for research, data processing, and operational tasks
- Rapidly prototype and iterate on new AI solutions
- Debug and optimize system performance across complex workflows
- Maintain documentation and ensure scalability of systems
- Support tactical financial analysis tasks on an ad hoc basis (can be done with AI support not expecting a financial expert for this role)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- At least 1 years of experience in software engineering, automation, or AI/ML development
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience working with LLM APIs and prompt engineering
- Demonstrated experience building AI-powered tools, automations, or agents (e.g. Claude Code, Codex)
- Experience with API integrations (REST, webhooks, authentication)
- Familiarity with automation platforms (e.g., Zapier, Make, n8n)
- Ability to operate independently and execute in ambiguous environments
- Strong problem-solving and systems thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with agent frameworks
- Familiarity with databases and infrastructure (including AWS and Supabase)
- Experience building internal tools or dashboards
- Basic front-end development experience
- Prior experience working with U.S.-based companies or startups
- Prior experience working with financial and/or investment companies
- Desire to study business processes and identify areas for automation and value creation

- Rapid deployment of AI systems that meaningfully reduce manual work
- Ability to take a loosely defined problem and deliver a working solution (in partnership with the business teams touching the workflows)
- Continuous identification of new automation opportunities across the business
