AI Associate Product Manager

About the Role

Pine Labs is building the next generation of commerce infrastructure powered by AI. We are looking for a small group of AI Associate Product Managers (AI APMs) who will operate at the intersection of product thinking, AI experimentation, and real customer problems.

This is not a traditional product role. AI APMs will act as AI-native product builders — identifying opportunities where AI can transform merchant workflows, rapidly prototyping solutions, and working directly with customers to deploy and iterate on these systems.

You will work closely with product, engineering, and enterprise customers to discover problems, prototype solutions, and help scale AI-first capabilities across Pine Labs platform.

What You Will Do

1. AI Problem Discovery

Identify opportunities where AI can meaningfully improve Pine Labs products and internal workflows.

You will:

• Explore how AI can enhance existing merchant products, payments infrastructure, and operational tools
• Work with product teams, operations teams, and support teams to identify high-impact automation opportunities
• Conduct rapid problem discovery using data, customer feedback, and internal workflows

Goal: uncover high-leverage AI use cases across the organisation.

2. Rapid AI Prototyping

Act as the first builder for AI-first product ideas.

You will:

• Build rapid prototypes using modern AI tooling (LLMs, agents, copilots, automation tools)
• Ship quick proof-of-concepts to validate whether AI can solve a real problem
• Work with engineering teams to productionise promising prototypes
• Run experiments to evaluate impact and iterate quickly

Goal: move from idea → working prototype → validated solution in weeks, not months.

3. Forward Deployed AI Solutions

Work directly with Pine Labs enterprise customers to design and deploy AI-powered workflows.

You will:

• Partner with large merchants and financial institutions to understand their workflows
• Design AI-enabled solutions tailored to their business needs
• Deploy pilots and work closely with customers to refine solutions
• Translate customer learnings into scalable product capabilities

Goal: ensure Pine Labs AI capabilities are built around real customer needs.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for curious builders who enjoy solving problems with technology.

Ideal candidates will have:

• 1–4 years of experience in product, engineering, consulting, or startups
• Strong interest in AI and emerging developer tools
• Ability to build quick prototypes using modern tools (Python, AI APIs, automation tools, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Comfort working in ambiguous environments
• Ability to work directly with customers and translate problems into solutions

Bonus if you have experience with:

• LLM APIs and agent frameworks
• data analysis and experimentation
• developer tools or automation platforms

What Success Looks Like

In the first 12 months, successful AI APMs will:

• Identify and validate multiple high-impact AI use cases
• Launch AI-powered capabilities inside Pine Labs products

Build prototypes that become production products
