AI and Digital Officer - 4

As an AI and Digital Officer, you will provide vital strategic leadership and technical expertise to translate the promise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation into improved public services. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation within government entities and create forward-looking technology infrastructure that directly benefits citizens. While this role emphasizes strategic oversight in guiding technology initiatives and decisions on digital strategy, the direct implementation of software projects will be carried out by respective departments (like NIC/CDAC) or vendors selected by the Ministry/agencies.

Core Responsibilities

• Strategy Development & Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive AI and digital transformation strategies for an assigned ministry, working in close partnership with its leadership.
• Strategic Advisory: Provide expert strategic advice to Ministries and Departments on adopting emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning (ML), blockchain, and others, to significantly improve governance and service delivery.
• Standards & Frameworks: Create robust standards and frameworks to guide the effective use of data and technology across ministry programs.
• Partnership & Architecture: Partner with CIOs, CTOs, and other agencies to implement modern architecture and systems that leverage automation and AI.
• Inter-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with the ministry on fostering inter-agency and industry collaborations specifically regarding technology innovation.
• Integrated Service Delivery & Data Strategy: Present an integrated view of citizen service delivery, help drive intra- and inter-ministerial coordination, and oversee the development and execution of the ministry's data strategy and data governance.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Overall experience, with significant years leading enterprise-scale AI and digital transformation initiatives. Experience in government or public sector organizations is preferred.
• Strategy & Roadmap: Proven experience developing and implementing technology strategies and roadmaps for large organizations.
• Technical Expertise: Expert knowledge of AI, machine learning, data security & privacy, advanced data analytics, and other emerging technologies.
• Leadership & Influence: Exceptional leadership and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
• Public Service Commitment: Strong commitment to public service and experience managing government partnerships.
• Education: Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
