Job Purpose

To support unit maintenance through workshop operation and maintenance To monitor and continuous work at PRSG (Pot Room Support Group) which supports rotational equipment for Pot Room and lead all team members in compliance of all quality, safety, health, environment parameters and statutory stipulations through continuous up gradation of the team and improvement initiatives towards sustainability.

Job Context & Major Challenges

JOB CONTEXT:
Smelters of Aluminium Production Units of Hindalco Industries Limited have a Carbon Plant, a Pot room a Cast House and a CPP as well as auxiliaries, Workshop and PRSG. To support maintenance function of unit by smooth operation of workshop equipment's. To support pot room maintenance functions by Overhauling and heavy / capital repair of mechanical equipment, repairing of pot room tools & Modification, Indigenization to ensure the maximum availability for uninterrupted production. Fabrication jobs and spare part development as per requirements of other dept. all above jobs to be carried out with ensuring the safety norms.
Ensuring timely delivery of developed spares and breakdown job by workshop. Prioritize machine shop job as per demand of user department for uninterrupted production. Deployment of manpower in workshop to maximize output as per user demand. Ensuring healthiness of workshop equipment's. Timely inspection of ROL item. Ensuring tools and consumables availability for daily jobs of workshop and PRSG.
JOB CHALLENGES
1) Availability of appropriate skill in remote location- dearth of good technicians-quality of workmanship giving rise to safety concerns
2) Reliability of repaired pot room tool and timely delivery.
3) Support through machine shop with limited resource.
4) Development of critical spared to support maintenance function of unit.

KRA1	1) Business Excellence	1) Implementing overhauling as well as repair maintenance of equipment at PRSG and Workshop through collaboration with other maintenance teams 2) Implementing Standard Operating Processes and Standard Maintenance Practices in area of jurisdiction.
KRA2	2) Cost	1) Giving inputs for planning and budgeting with respect to all technical up gradation and mechanical maintenance with respect to equipment under jurisdiction for the next financial year.
KRA3	3) Cash	1) Managing working capital by driving optimization of consumption of spares without compromising on safety and environment aspects towards greater profitability.
KRA4	4) Customer	1) Ensuring continuous delivery of pot room equipment after repairing through mechanical maintenance at the PRSG and timely delivery of machining job 2) Minimizing response time in providing draughting services information and solutions to all internal customers 3) Meeting internal customer expectations by honoring service level agreements (SLA) 4) Ensuring minimum rejection of solutions offered by the PRSG group.
KRA5	5) Sustainability & Compliance	1) Implementing compliance of all statutory and environmental norms with focus on load bearing vehicle testing at regular intervals 2) Implementing innovation for modification particularly where OEMs have discontinued, for greater productivity and safety 3) Implementing compliance of Integrated Management system and Energy Management System 4) Implementing good Housekeeping practices .
KRA6	6) Safety	1) Complying with all protocols related to work permits for work in operational areas 2) Embedding a safety culture as per standards by implementing Health, Safety, Environment norms through implementation of safety standards such as LOTOTO, MSDS, 5S, OHSAS compliance, fire safety mechanism, HAZOP study, Risk assessment, HIRA, Compliance of observation of safety task forces to eliminate unsafe behavior and achieve zero harm, health check-up and ergonomic studies 3) Implementing safety related training is imparted to own and contractual teams 4) Implementing emergency handling readiness through continuous recording of special events, trip analysis, failure analysis, efficiency improvement, benchmarking, efficiency evaluation.
KRA7	7) People development and engagement	1) Monitoring and improving performance of team members 2) Building competency through training need identification, training initiatives to enhance technical and behavioral competencies to implement multiskilling 3) Partnering intake and deployment of appropriately trained contractual workforce and ensuring their continuous training and wellbeing as per company guidelines. 4) Implementing contract management with respect to housekeeping.
