Agriculture Officer

Gram Bartori Vikas Shikshan Samiti (GBVSS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to driving sustainable development in rural and tribal areas of Chhattisgarh, India. Through its initiatives, GBVSS focuses on education, tribal development, water management, women's empowerment, and agriculture. The organization works closely with local communities to foster self-reliance and improve livelihoods. By addressing critical social and economic challenges, GBVSS aims to create long-term positive change in underserved areas.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bilaspur for an Agriculture Officer. The Agriculture Officer will work on planning and implementing agricultural development initiatives, conducting research, providing technical assistance and improved farming techniques to local farmers, and collaborating with stakeholders to promote sustainable agricultural practices. Responsibilities also include supporting agribusiness activities, contributing to rural development projects, and assessing the impact of agricultural programs.

• Strong knowledge in Agriculture and Agricultural Economics
• Expertise or experience in Rural Development and Agribusiness
• Ability to conduct research and apply findings to agricultural practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with communities and stakeholders
• Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and rural development goals
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• Fieldwork experience and familiarity with rural or tribal contexts is highly valued
• Proficiency in local languages is an added advantage
