We are hiring for an Agri Commodity Research & Analytics Executive with 3–5 years of experience in the agri domain. This role requires a heavy analytics focus (60–70%) combined with a working understanding of agri market research (30–40%).
The ideal candidate is intellectually sharp and mathematically dedicated, possessing the ability to combine advanced data analytics, forecasting, and decision support with a solid understanding of agri commodity markets. We need a professional who doesn't just look at numbers but excels in deep data interpretation & reading to generate highly accurate, actionable business insights.
Key Responsibilities Analytics & Decision Support- Analyse complex agri commodity data across prices, arrivals, supply-demand, weather, crop cycles, and market trends.
- Apply rigorous data interpretation & reading skills to extract meaningful narratives and market-moving insights from raw numbers.
- Build, optimize, and maintain analytical models, dashboards, trackers, and reports for executive business review.
- Validate core market assumptions using statistical, logical, and highly disciplined mathematical analysis.
- Approach datasets with a healthy, skeptical mindset—actively challenging anomalies, verifying data integrity, and cross-referencing multiple sources before framing business recommendations.
- Improve existing reporting processes, forecasting methodologies, and analytical frameworks.
- Utilize tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, and BI platforms for analysis and decision support.
Market Research & Intelligence- Track domestic and international agri commodity markets, including prices, arrivals, crop conditions, production cycles, and stock positions.
- Monitor supply-demand trends across regions, origins, and key consumption markets.
- Track policy, regulatory, and trade developments impacting agri commodities.
- Monitor logistics factors such as freight rates, port disruptions, and trade flow changes.
- Support identification of supply risks, price opportunities, and market-moving events.
Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration- Collaborate with internal teams to understand requirements and translate them into robust analytical outputs.
- Ensure timely delivery, extreme accuracy, consistency, and highly objective, data-backed recommendations.
What We Are Looking For- 3–5 years of experience in the agri domain, preferably in commodity analytics, market research, business analytics, or market intelligence.
- An intellectually sharp professional with a proven track record in advanced data interpretation & reading and business insight generation.
- A mathematically dedicated mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities and an affinity for numbers, trends, and financial/statistical models.
- A skeptical and analytical thinker who looks beyond surface-level data to uncover underlying market realities, risks, and hidden opportunities.
- Good understanding of agri commodity markets, supply-demand fundamentals, and commercial drivers.
- Ability to work confidently with structured and unstructured datasets from multiple sources.
- Strong command of Excel; working knowledge of SQL, Python, and BI tools is preferred.
- Detail-oriented, deeply curious, and capable of handling fast-moving market information.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex, technical analysis into clean, actionable business insights.
Preferred Background- Experience in agri commodities, spices, herbals, or related agricultural value chains.
- Exposure to forecasting, pricing analysis, procurement analytics, or commodity intelligence.
- Familiarity with domestic and international commodity market dynamics.
