Responsibilities
Technology Leadership (OT & Digital)
- Own OT and digital architecture across PLC, SCADA, DCS, IoT, Edge, historians, data and analytics platforms.
- Define and enforce technology standards, reference architectures, and lifecycle management practices.
- Act as the technical authority for digital and automation initiatives at KCL.
Digital Transformation & Use Case Enablement
- Translate smelting, refining, utilities and maintenance requirements into robust digital solutions.
- Enable Industry 4.0 use cases such as predictive maintenance, process optimization, digital quality and energy optimization.
- Support pilots, POCs and roll-out in coordination with project and site teams.
OT Systems & Cybersecurity
- Ensure availability, reliability and performance of OT systems.
- Define and implement OT cybersecurity controls aligned with ISA/IEC 62443.
- Work very closely with the Cyber security Team and assist in patching and upgrades, backups and disaster recovery exercises for OT environments.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- HSE leadership and visible commitment
- Safety ‑ by ‑ design for OT & digital systems
- Statutory and site compliance (PTW, commissioning, maintenance) – for project implementation, the candidate must provide clear guidance pertaining to safety requirements, to the Business Partner and their Team members.
- Contribute to Incident investigation & corrective actions as and when required.
- Use of digital technologies for safety and environmental monitoring
- Project & Delivery Collaboration
- Partner with Integral Project Managers to provide design, estimation and risk inputs.
- Review vendor proposals, solution designs and ensure adherence to technology and security standards.
- Prepare technical updates and presentations, as necessary and directed by the Executive Leadership Team.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as primary technical interface between KCL site teams, Digital team, Group IT and vendors.
- Evaluate and recommend technology platforms, OEMs and system integrators.
- Champion Change Management, so that applications that are rolled out are implemented in a flawless manner.
Qualifications
- 15–20 years of experience in OT, process control and optimisation and/or digital technology roles.
- Strong experience in Metals, Mining, Smelting or heavy process industries.
- Expertise in PLC, SCADA, DCS, OT–IT integration, IoT and industrial data platforms.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms, data analytics and visualization.
- Experience supporting large-scale digital or automation projects.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's/ master's degree in engineering preferably Electrical/ Electronics/ I&C/ Metallurgy/ Chemical
- Certifications in OT, cybersecurity (ISA/IEC 62443), digital or cloud platforms are desirable.
