Job Description
We are looking for an experienced AGM / GM HR to lead and manage HR operations for a growing real estate development organization. The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to HR compliance, payroll, labour laws, employee relations, HR operations, and workforce management, preferably within the real estate/construction/developer industry.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations
- Lead end-to-end HR operations across corporate office and project/site teams.
- Manage employee lifecycle including onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, separation and full & final settlement.
- Develop and implement HR policies, processes and SOPs.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Partner with business heads and site leadership on manpower and employee-related matters.
Payroll Management
- Manage and oversee monthly payroll processing for employees and site workforce.
- Ensure accurate attendance, leave, deductions, incentives, reimbursements and salary inputs.
- Coordinate with Finance/Payroll teams for timely salary processing.
- Handle payroll-related employee queries and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure payroll processes are aligned with applicable statutory requirements.
Compliance & Labour Laws
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Strong working knowledge of EPF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Bonus Act, Gratuity Act, Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages, Contract Labour Act, Shops & Establishments Act, BOCW Act and other applicable regulations.
- Manage statutory registrations, renewals, returns, records and documentation.
- Coordinate with labour authorities, consultants and statutory auditors whenever required.
- Ensure compliance across project sites, contractors and manpower agencies.
- Conduct periodic HR compliance audits and identify gaps with corrective actions.
Contract Labour / Site HR
- Manage compliance and HR processes for contractual workforce deployed at construction/project sites.
- Monitor contractor compliance, attendance, wages, statutory contributions and documentation.
- Ensure proper maintenance of labour registers and statutory records.
- Coordinate with project/site teams to ensure adherence to labour and safety-related requirements.
Employee Relations
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and workplace issues.
- Manage warning letters, show-cause notices, disciplinary actions and separation cases.
- Support management in maintaining a positive and professional work environment.
HR MIS & Reporting
- Prepare and present HR dashboards and MIS covering headcount, attrition, payroll, manpower cost, attendance, hiring and compliance.
- Provide HR analytics and insights to senior management for decision-making.
- Ensure HRMS data accuracy and process automation wherever possible.
Desired Candidate Profile
- MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent qualification.
- 15+ years of relevant HR experience, preferably with a real estate developer or construction organization.
- Strong hands-on experience in payroll and statutory compliance.
- Excellent knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory regulations.
- Experience managing both corporate and project/site HR operations will be preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management and employee relations skills.
- Good communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to independently manage HR operations and compliance functions.
