Job Description

Description

About the Role

The AFBP (Amazon Future Builder Program) Program Manager is a high-impact, cross-functional role responsible for the end-to-end management and transformation of Amazon India's flagship leadership development program for MBA hires. This role directly oversees three swimlanes — Stores, Finance, and RBS — managing the full lifecycle from demand collection through graduation, while partnering with L8 and L10 leaders across business and PXT to deliver on the program's core promise: accelerated career growth for premium talent.

Incumbent of this role is expected to transform how AFBP operates — leveraging Agentic AI to reimagine manual processes, building deep program partnerships modeled on best-in-class benchmarks, and driving measurable promotion outcomes that justify the program's investment thesis.

Key job responsibilities

Program Lifecycle Management

  • Own the end-to-end AFBP journey across three swimlanes (Stores, Finance, RBS) and multiple concurrent cohorts (3–4 active batches at any given time)
  • Partner with AUTA during demand collection, ensuring business leaders align demand with OPEX goals and honor commitments for incoming cohorts
  • Design and execute the annual Incubator Program — a one-week intensive onboarding experience requiring coordination with multiple L8+ leaders, curriculum design, logistics, and cross-functional alignment
  • Drive rotation matching: understanding AFBP aspirations, mapping available roles across orgs, matching employee preferences with business needs, and ensuring smooth handovers between managers across stints
  • Manage performance evaluation cycles, talent reviews (Q1/Q3), mentorship tracking, engagement programming, and graduation (job code transitions, compensation updates)

Program Transformation through AI

  • Deploy Agentic AI to automate lifecycle communications, rotation nudges, manager follow-ups, and stakeholder coordination — eliminating manual email-heavy processes
  • Build and iterate an AI-powered Rotation Matching Engine that reads available roles, employee strengths, program construct, and historical mapping outcomes to recommend optimal placements — learning and improving with each rotational cycle
  • Use AI to surface insights on program health: promotion readiness signals, engagement patterns, and early warning indicators for at-risk participants

Strategic Program Partnership & Benchmarking

  • Liaise with IN OPS to adopt and adapt their best-in-class mode
  • Drive accountability from leaders and managers who are expected to invest in talent development — ensuring the accelerated learning promise translates into actual promotion outcomes, not just rotational exposure
  • Build and present QBRs for each swimlane, inspecting promotion pipelines, identifying blockers, and escalating where the program's career growth promise is not being honored
  • Partner with AUTA on internship experience design, campus strategy alignment, and incubator planning

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
