Role Purpose
To lead and strengthen the Quality Management System across aerospace
manufacturing and supply chain operations, ensuring full compliance with global
aviation standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. The role is
responsible for driving zero-defect culture, regulatory readiness, supplier quality
excellence, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management & Regulatory Compliance
Lead and maintain AS9100 / AS9110 / AS9120 compliant Quality Management
System.
Ensure compliance with DGCA, FAA, EASA and other applicable aerospace regulatory
standards.
Act as Management Representative for certification and surveillance audits.
Oversee NADCAP processes where applicable.
Ensure airworthiness, traceability, and configuration control requirements are strictly
implemented.
Operational Quality Leadership
Drive First Article Inspection (FAI) in line with AS9102 requirements.
Lead root cause analysis (8D, RCCA, Fishbone, 5 Why) and ensure sustainable
corrective and preventive actions.
Oversee inspection, testing, calibration, and metrology systems.
Ensure robust control of non-conforming materials and concession processes.
Drive quality performance metrics (PPM, COPQ, OTIF impact, warranty claims).
Supplier Quality & Risk Management
Develop and manage aerospace-qualified supplier base.
Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments.
Implement supplier development programs focused on process capability (Cp/Cpk),
APQP and PPAP (where applicable).
Mitigate supply chain quality risks through structured monitoring and escalation
frameworks.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
Serve as primary quality interface for aerospace OEMs and Tier-1 customers.
Lead customer audits, quality reviews, and regulatory inspections.
Manage customer complaints and ensure timely closure with data-driven solutions.
Continuous Improvement & Digitalization
Implement Lean, Six Sigma and statistical process control methodologies.
Drive defect prevention initiatives and process standardization.
Leverage digital quality tools, ERP/MES systems for traceability and analytics.
Lead quality culture transformation initiatives across production and engineering
teams.
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor cross-functional quality teams including QA, QC, supplier quality,
and compliance professionals.
Build succession capability and technical depth within the quality organization.
Promote strong safety, compliance, and accountability culture.
Required Qualification Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical / Aerospace / Production / Industrial
Engineering preferred).
Master's degree or relevant quality certifications preferred.
Certifications
AS9100 Lead Auditor (mandatory or strongly preferred).
Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt preferred.
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) advantageous.
Experience
Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in aerospace manufacturing or MRO
environment.
Strong exposure to regulatory audits (DGCA, FAA, EASA).
Experience working with aerospace OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
Demonstrated experience managing multi-site or complex manufacturing
environments preferred.
