Advanced Hardware Engineer
Role Overview
Honeywell IA-IMC is seeking an experienced
Advanced Hardware Engineer to design and develop robust electronic products for industrial environments. This role involves end-to-end hardware development, cross-functional collaboration, and driving technical excellence across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and deliver hardware development activities, including design, schematic capture, board bring-up, and testing.
- Lead technical discussions and collaborate with suppliers, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to ensure timely resolution of supply chain and production challenges.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, quality, and manufacturing etc.) to ensure project timelines, cost, and compliance targets are met.
- Conduct design reviews and present technical updates to program managers and leadership stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for product improvements and innovation using advanced electronic engineering principles.
- Apply knowledge of industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practices in instrumentation and metering systems.
- Influence cross-functional teams to achieve optimal design solutions and execution efficiency.
- Make timely, data-driven decisions to maintain project momentum.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or equivalent (BE/BTech/AMIE/IEEE)
- 9–14 years of experience in Embedded hardware design and product development
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Microcontroller and Microprocessor-based system designs, including hardware architecture and circuit design.
- Expertise in DC-DC converters and voltage regulators designs.
- Solid knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
- Hands-on experience with communication protocols like UART, RS-422, RS-485, I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, Ethernet.
- Proficiency in circuit simulation and analysis tools such as SPICE, PSpice, HSPICE.
- Good understanding of product development lifecycle, including manufacturing processes and validation/testing phases.
- Familiarity with EMC, environmental, and safety compliance testing and certifications. Knowledge of relevant standards such as IEC, EN, CISPR.
- Experience with hardware lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, logic analyzers, etc.
- Strong expertise in schematic design tools, PCB layout guidelines, design reviews, and board bring-up.
- Good understanding of sensor technologies and interfacing.
- Familiarity with PLM/ERP tools such as SAP, PDM, or Teamcenter
Preferred (Nice To Have)
- Hands-on experience with i.MX 8 Processor designs.
- Experience with wireless and RF technologies: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GSM, GPRS, LTE/4G/5G, ISM band, IoT systems.
- Exposure to Value Engineering (VE/VECE) initiatives.
