The AdTech Architect - OTT/CTV is responsible for designing, scaling, and evolving the advertising technology ecosystem for the organization's streaming platform. This role defines the architecture for server-side ad insertion (SSAI), ad decisioning, real-time user segmentation, identity, measurement, and monetization workflows across live, linear, and on-demand content. The architect will work across engineering, product, data, and monetization teams to build a next-generation, high-performance, privacy-safe advertising platform for OTT audiences.
The Core Responsibilities For The Job Include The Following
AdTech Architecture and Platform Design:
- Architect end-to-end OTT ad delivery flow, including SSAI/DAI, ad podding, manifest manipulation, and CDN distribution.
- Define and own the architecture for key AdTech components: publisher ad server, SSAI/DAI services, SCTE35 cue handling, pod management, competitive separation, category rules, and VAST/VMAP/DAAST templates.
- Build scalable, low-latency programmatic integrations (OpenRTB, PMP, PG deals) with SSPs and DSPs.
Identity, Targeting, And Data
- Build OTT household identity frameworks using device IDs, ACR data, first-party login data, and IP-based householding.
- Architect real-time targeting and frequency management across screens (mobile app + web + CTV).
- Partner with data engineering to build streaming pipelines for log processing, impression tracking, attribution, and viewability.
Monetization And Yield
- Collaborate with the Ads Monetization team to define strategies for inventory enrichment, pod yield optimization, and floor pricing.
- Ad load and user experience balancing.
- Design systems that support programmatic, guaranteed, curated supply packages and brand safety-compliant enforcement.
Quality, Integrity, And Compliance
- Architect fraud-resistant CTV systems (device validation, SSAI spoofing protection, adscert, and app bundle validation).
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, DPDP Act, and IAB CTV standards (ads.txt for apps, sellers.json, and SupplyChain Object).
- Implement privacy by design across identity, data, and ad decisioning workflows.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with video engineering (CDN, encoding, streaming), data science (ML models for prediction, ranking, bidding), and product (ad formats, ad UX, shoppable CTV).
- Sales and AdOps (troubleshooting, deal setup, targeting capability enablement).
- Provide technical thought leadership and drive architectural roadmaps for the OTT ads stack.
Requirements
- Strong experience in OTT/CTV ad delivery systems: SSAI, DAI, HLS/DASH, and manifest stitching.
- Expertise in digital video ad standards: SCTE35 VAST/VMAP, OpenRTB, and OMID.
- Hands-on architecture experience with Java/Go/Python/Scala, Kafka/Flink/Spark, Redis/Aerospike/DynamoDB
- Kubernetes, microservices, large-scale distributed systems
- Deep understanding of programmatic advertising and auction mechanics.
- 7+ years working in AdTech; 5+ years in OTT/CTV preferred.
- Experience with streaming platforms, encoders, CDN workflows, and video ad policies.
- Understanding of household identity graphs, ACR-based targeting, and TV measurement ecosystems.
Soft Skills
- Strong stakeholder management across engineering, product, and sales.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to drive architectural decisions in complex, high-scale environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SSAI platforms such as AWS MediaTailor, Google DAI, Yospace, and FreeWheel.
- Experience building or integrating with CTV monetization stacks.
- Past contribution to IAB standards or CTV working groups.
- Exposure to ML-powered ad relevance systems.
