The Admission Counsellor will be responsible for student recruitment and enrolment by counselling prospective students and parents, guiding them through program selection, managing end-to-end admission processes, achieving enrolment targets, and supporting outreach and promotional activities.
Key Responsibilities
Student Counselling & Conversion
- Counsel prospective students and parents through walk-ins, phone calls, emails, WhatsApp, and online inquiries.
- Understand student interests and guide them towards suitable UG/PG programs.
- Explain program structure, eligibility, fee details, scholarships, and career outcomes clearly.
- Maintain a high conversion ratio from enquiry to application and admission.
Admissions Process Handling
- Manage end-to-end admission workflow: enquiry application documentation fee payment confirmation.
- Assist students in filling application forms and uploading documents correctly.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of student data in admission systems.
Lead Management & Follow-ups
- Manage leads generated through marketing campaigns, web portals, social media, and referrals.
- Ensure timely follow-up and nurture leads to closure.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and admission status in CRM.
Outreach & Promotional Activities
- Participate in school/college visits, education fairs, seminars, open houses, and campus tours.
- Support digital and offline campaigns by coordinating with marketing teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, coaching centers, and education consultants.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily/weekly reports on leads, counselling done, applications received, and conversions.
- Maintain enquiry registers, admission files, and student communication logs.
- Ensure adherence to University admission policies and compliance requirements.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Number of enquiries handled and quality of counselling.
- Applications generated and admissions closed.
- Conversion rate (Enquiry Admission).
- Follow-up turnaround time and lead closure cycle.
- Accuracy of data and documentation compliance.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline (MBA/PG preferred).
- Prior experience in university/education admissions will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 35 years in admissions / sales counselling / education consulting / student recruitment.
- Freshers with strong communication and persuasion skills may also be considered.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication skills (English + Hindi/Regional language preferred).
- Strong convincing, counselling, and interpersonal skills.
- Target driven, result oriented, able to manage pressure during peak admission season.
- Good computer skills (MS Excel, Google sheets, CRM tools).
- Professional grooming and student-friendly attitude.
- Ability to work on weekends/holidays during admission drives and events.
