Position: Adjunct Instructor – Coastal Studies & GIS Technology
Department: Academics; Career & Technical Education
Reports To: Program Chair of Coastal Studies & GIS Technology
Position Summary
Nunez Community College is seeking an adjunct (part-time) Coastal Studies & Geospatial Information Science (GIS) Technology Instructor, who will prepare, support, and deliver instruction in a variety of modalities, including on-campus, web-based, and hybrid courses. The adjunct instructor will also contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and student advisement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education
- Master's Degree in Geology, Geography, Coastal Studies, GIS, or a related field
Required Experience
- Three (3) years of teaching experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrated success in training or education
- Extensive knowledge of the content area and the ability to teach it effectively
- Effective classroom management skills, including maintaining a positive learning environment
- Knowledge of proper records management
- Knowledge and commitment to institutional mission and values and the ability to work with stakeholders across the college to achieve and uphold them.

- 3+ years of collegiate-level teaching experience
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to develop a variety of effective teaching techniques and assessment methods
