Role Objective
Own and deliver the Azure Data Factory architecture for P&C insurance data platforms. This role is accountable for architecture decisions, hands-on delivery, and technical quality. You are expected to operate independently and drive outcomes. Guidewire experience is a plus, not a substitute for ADF expertise.
Core Responsibilities
- Own ADF architecture end to end — design, standards, implementation, and enforcement.
- Design and build enterprise-scale data pipelines handling high-volume P&C insurance data.
- Develop complex ADF pipelines, datasets, linked services, triggers, and monitoring frameworks.
- Integrate data across policy, claims, billing, underwriting, finance, and analytics systems.
- Drive data ingestion from Guidewire platforms where applicable (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter).
- Implement and enforce error handling, logging, retry mechanisms, and performance optimization.
- Ensure data reliability, scalability, and cost control across Azure services.
- Translate P&C insurance business requirements into executable technical designs.
- Review and approve designs and code from other engineers; enforce engineering discipline.
- Identify technical risks early and resolve them decisively.
Mandatory Requirements
- 10+ years of data engineering or integration experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Azure Data Factory (ADF) experience in production environments.
- Strong P&C insurance domain expertise across policy, claims, billing, underwriting, and financial data.
- Proven experience designing and delivering complex, large-scale data integration platforms.
- Strong SQL skills and solid data modeling fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake Gen2, Azure SQL, Synapse, and/or Databricks.
- Experience working in governed, regulated environments with strict data security controls.
- Demonstrated ability to own architecture decisions and deliver without supervision.
