About Drucks
Drucks is building India's first custom-fit 3D printed footwear brand.
We are developing an end-to-end additive manufacturing ecosystem including custom FDM hardware, proprietary foaming materials, slicing workflows, and scalable print operations for mass customisation.
This role is ideal for engineers who love building, debugging, optimising, and scaling real-world manufacturing systems from the ground up.
What You Will Work On
Process Standardisation & Print Quality
- Develop and optimise standardised FDM print workflows, machine profiles, and process SOPs.
- Build parameter libraries for different geometries and materials.
- Define quality benchmarks, validation methods, and failure analysis workflows.
- Drive continuous improvements in print consistency, cycle time, material usage, and cost efficiency.
- Experiment with advanced print strategies, lattice structures, and material behaviour.
Hardware Development & Maintenance
- Maintain and optimise our fleet of custom and commercial FDM printers.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical systems including motion assemblies, extruders, heated systems, and enclosures.
- Troubleshoot electronics including drivers, thermistors, MOSFETs, control boards, and power systems.
- Work with firmware including Marlin and Klipper.
- Assist in development and testing of next-generation custom AM hardware.
- Commission and validate new machines using structured acceptance protocols.
Software & Manufacturing Operations
- Configure and optimise slicers including Cura, Orca, PrusaSlicer, or equivalent platforms.
- Collaborate with design and product teams to provide DfAM feedback.
- Maintain calibration records, maintenance logs, and process documentation.
- Train operators and help establish scalable manufacturing practices.
What You Bring
Required
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or related engineering fields.
- 3–7 years of hands-on experience with professional FDM systems.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and assembly skills.
- Working knowledge of electronics, schematics, low-voltage systems, and soldering.
- Experience with Marlin or Klipper firmware.
- Deep understanding of slicing workflows and print parameter optimisation.
- Builder mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
Nice To Have
- Experience with custom machine building or modification.
- Exposure to SLA/SLS workflows.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma / ISO systems.
- Python scripting or automation experience.
- CAD experience in Fusion 360 or SolidWorks.
- Experience with post-processing and finishing techniques.
Why Join Drucks
- Work on one of India's most ambitious additive manufacturing consumer brands.
- Build manufacturing systems from scratch instead of operating legacy setups.
- High ownership and fast execution environment.
- Opportunity to shape the future of scalable mass customisation in footwear.
