About the Role:
As a Satellite Attitude Determination & Control Systems (ADCS) Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and validating advanced spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control systems that enable precise satellite operations in orbit.
Working alongside multidisciplinary teams of aerospace, avionics, software, and systems engineers, you will contribute to cutting-edge satellite programs from concept development through testing and mission readiness. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS/ADCS) simulations for satellite missions.
- Design, implement, and optimize spacecraft Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) algorithms for precision attitude determination and control.
- Develop advanced estimation techniques, including Kalman Filters (KF/EKF) and state estimation algorithms.
- Build and validate spacecraft guidance solutions for attitude maneuvering, target acquisition, payload pointing, and mission-specific operations.
- Develop onboard flight software and embedded control applications using C/C++.
- Create system models and perform simulation-based verification using MATLAB, Simulink, and Python.
- Execute and support Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing activities.
- Analyze performance data, troubleshoot control-system behavior, and improve algorithm robustness.
- Collaborate with avionics, software, systems, and mission engineering teams throughout the spacecraft development lifecycle.
- Prepare technical reports, test documentation, verification records, and engineering analyses.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- B.E./B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or related engineering disciplines OR M.E./M.Tech in Control Systems, Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, or related specializations.
- Strong understanding of Control Theory, System Dynamics, and Feedback Control Systems.
- Proficiency in C, C++, MATLAB, Simulink, and Python.
- Experience with State-Space Modeling, Control System Design, and Dynamic System Analysis.
- Knowledge of Attitude Determination & Control Systems (ADCS) and Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) principles.
- Understanding of Kalman Filtering, Extended Kalman Filters (EKF), and estimation techniques.
- Familiarity with Satellite Dynamics, Spacecraft Attitude Control, and Orbital Mechanics.
- Exposure to Embedded Systems and real-time software development.
- Experience with simulation, verification, and validation methodologies.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
- Hands-on experience with CubeSat, UAV, Robotics, Aerospace, or Space Engineering projects.
- Familiarity with Linux, Git, and software configuration management workflows.
- Exposure to embedded software or flight software development environments.
- Participation in university satellite programs, aerospace competitions, research projects, or space-tech startups.
- Knowledge of spacecraft mission operations and satellite integration/testing activities.
