Role Purpose
The ADAS System Architect will lead system-engineering and architecture activities for L2+ Driving features including e-Horizon, navigation-data integration, and L2+ driving-system functions.
The position requires close collaboration, platform and ADCU teams, navigation and map-data suppliers, function developers, functional-safety engineers, and integration partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the end-to-end system architecture for e-Horizon, navigation/map-data integration, and related L2+ ADAS functions.
- Analyze customer, stakeholder, safety, supplier, and platform requirements.
- Develop logical, functional, behavioral, and physical architecture views, including system boundaries, component responsibilities, interfaces, dependencies, and data flows.
- Define and review external and internal interfaces between navigation systems, map-data providers, ADCU, ADAS applications, vehicle networks, mode management, diagnostics, and HMI.
- Define behavior through operating modes, state machines, initialization sequences, degraded modes, fallback behavior, fail-safe transitions, and recovery conditions.
- Evaluate e-Horizon road-context quality, positioning uncertainty, confidence information, map matching, data freshness, and the impact of degraded GPS accuracy on ADAS functionality.
- Coordinate technical alignment among OEM stakeholders, Tier-1 suppliers, map/navigation providers, function owners, safety teams, and integration teams.
- Lead architecture reviews, issue-resolution discussions, technical workshops, and decision-making sessions; document decisions, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and open points.
- Support system integration and vehicle-demonstration planning by defining signal availability, interface readiness, configuration dependencies, acceptance criteria, and verification expectations.
- Apply Automotive SPICE system-engineering practices across requirements analysis, system architectural design, traceability, reviews, and work-product quality.
- Prepare customer-ready technical presentations, architecture documents, interface lists, review reports, weekly status updates, and management summaries.
- Mentor system engineers and promote consistent use of MBSE, SysML, reusable modeling patterns, and structured engineering practices.
- Strong experience in automotive system engineering or system architecture, preferably within ADAS, automated driving, navigation, e-Horizon.
- Practical knowledge of Automotive SPICE SYS.1, SYS.2 and SYS.3, requirements engineering, architecture development, interface management, and traceability.
- Understanding of ADAS operating modes, state-machine design, fail-safe behavior, diagnostics, timing constraints, vehicle communication, and system integration.
- Familiarity with e-Horizon concepts, navigation data, map matching, positioning accuracy, confidence assessment.
- Ability to critically review supplier proposals and technical reports, identify gaps and inconsistencies, and convert findings into clear engineering actions.
- Strong customer communication, technical leadership, negotiation, documentation, and cross-cultural stakeholder-management skills.
