Team Leadership:
- Oversee the work of junior colleagues in the Brit India Actuarial team including checking it for technical accuracy and clarity of presentation.
- In collaboration with Brit London Actuarial team members, mentor and guide junior colleagues in the Brit India Actuarial team to support them in the development of their technical and softer skills.
- Identify and address training and development needs for junior colleagues in the Brit India Actuarial team.
- Create and maintain an open, positive and collaborative culture within Brit India Actuarial.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with Brit London Actuarial team and other departments as required.
Reserving:
- Contribute to the improvement of data quality, processes and controls in reserving workflows.
- Assist with reserving exercises by supporting the analysis of claims and premium data to set assumptions.
- Contribute to the preparation and analysis of any reserve estimates for Regulatory Reporting (Solvency II, IFRS 17, US Trust Funds, etc).
- Support internal and external audit processes, including Lloyd's reviews.
Pricing and Business Planning:
- Contribute to the improvement of data quality, processes and controls in pricing workflows.
- Assist with performance optimisation by supporting technical pricing.
- Assist with segmentation analysis, identifying areas of outperformance / underperformance, to inform and shape underwriting decisions.
- Minimum 3 years experience in a non-life insurance actuarial role, preferably Lloyd's / London Market
- Experience delegating to and/or reviewing the work of other actuarial analysts
- Commenced the actuarial exams, with a willingness to complete the full qualification.
- Obtained a relevant, numerate degree (or equivalent) with a high overall grade and strong academic background with top grades at HSC (classes 11-12).
- Excellent IT skills, in particular an advanced level of MS Excel, VBA, SQL, Python or similar coding experience is required.
- A keen interest in data visualisation for business intelligence with experience in developing Power BI dashboards.
