Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic ACI Implementation Engineer to spearhead the deployment, migration, and management of our enterprise Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) networks.

In this role, you will act as the core hands-on technical expert responsible for translating complex network designs into physical and logical reality. You will execute critical data center migrations, configure robust Cisco ACI environments, and implement automation workflows to eliminate manual overhead.

Core Responsibilities1. Fabric Deployment & Configuration

  • Lead the end-to-end physical and logical deployment of Cisco Nexus 9000 series switches in ACI mode.
  • Perform APIC cluster initialization, fabric discovery, policy configurations, and firmware/microcode upgrades.
  • Configure and manage complex ACI logical constructs: Multi-Pod/Multi-Site setups, Tenants, VRFs, Bridge Domains (BDs), Application Network Profiles (ANPs), EPGs, and Contracts.
  • Establish secure external network connectivity using L3Out (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and L2Out.
  • Migration Execution & Service Integration
  • Plan, test, and execute seamless, low-downtime migrations from traditional legacy network architectures (Cisco Catalyst/Nexus standalone) to Cisco ACI fabric.
  • Integrate Layer 4–7 service appliances (Palo Alto, Fortinet Firewalls, and F5 BIG-IP Load Balancers) into the ACI fabric utilizing Service Graph insertions and Policy-Based Routing (PBR).
  • Infrastructure Automation & Programmability
  • Leverage Python, Ansible, or Terraform alongside Cisco ACI REST APIs to automate bulk provisioning, tenant creation, object modification, and repetitive daily workflows.
  • Incorporate Network-as-Code principles to eliminate configuration drift and ensure deployment agility.
  • Advanced Operations & Day-2 Support
  • Act as the primary engineering escalation point for critical (P1/P2) data center fabric anomalies.
  • Troubleshoot complex multi-tenant environment issues, including endpoint learning drops, contract isolation faults, and routing mismatches using APIC CLI, acidiag, and ELAM captures.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including low-level designs (LLD), migration runbooks, and network topology diagrams.

Required Technical Skills & QualificationsTechnical Expertise (Must-Have)

  • Cisco ACI Mastery: Minimum 3+ years of dedicated, production-level experience managing Cisco APIC controllers and Spine-Leaf data center topologies.
  • Core Routing & Switching: Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, and classical Spanning Tree/vPC protocols.
  • Automation Frameworks: Scripting efficiency in writing or modifying Ansible playbooks or Python scripts specifically interacting with Cisco ACI frameworks/Cobra SDK.

Experience & Education

  • Total Experience: 8–10 years in enterprise-scale Data Center Network Engineering and Implementation.
  • Education: B.E. / B.Tech / MCA or equivalent technical degree.

Preferred Certifications (Added Advantage)

  • Cisco Certified Specialist - ACI Implementation (300-620 DCACI)
  • CCNP Data Center or CCIE (Data Center / Enterprise Infrastructure)

Behavioral Competencies

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with a structured analytical mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical updates clearly during migration windows.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a high-pressure deployment environment.
