Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Accounting Executive / Accounting Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of Motorist Pte Ltd, leading a team of two Accounting Executives, and ensuring the timely and accurate completion of accounts closing for the Singapore entity and regional markets (Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines). The role serves as the key liaison between the finance team and internal stakeholders, and drives process improvements to support the company's regional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Accounting Executives, providing guidance on day-to-day tasks and career development

  • Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounts closing process for the Singapore entity and oversee accounts closing for regional markets

  • Prepare and review consolidated management accounts and intercompany reconciliations

  • Oversee Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) across Singapore entities

  • Review and approve invoices, payment runs, and journal entries prepared by the team

  • Oversee quarterly GST submissions and ensure accuracy of input/output tax claims

  • Prepare monthly management reports and variance analyses for Finance Assistant Director and Management

  • Oversee the credit control process, including follow-up on outstanding dealer invoices and unpaid debt

  • Review existing accounting processes and identify opportunities to streamline or automate workflows

  • Liaise with external parties including vendors, contractors, government agencies, banks, auditors, and tax agents

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field

  • At least 4-6 years of relevant accounting experience

  • Prior experience in a supervisory or team-lead capacity is required

  • Proficient in QuickBooks (or equivalent accounting software) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Strong understanding of Singapore FRS / IFRS, GST, and corporate tax requirements

  • Strong leadership and people management skills able to coach and develop junior team members

  • High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
