The AP Operations Manager is responsible for day‑to‑day management of Accounts Payable delivery from PFI India, supporting U.S. and global stakeholders. This role oversees invoice processing, exception management, payment execution, reconciliations, and vendor inquiry support.

Reporting to the Director, Procure to Pay (P2P), the AP Operations Manager ensures consistent service delivery, strong controls, audit readiness, and continuous improvement across AP processes while leading teams and partnering closely with Finance, Tax, Procurement, and Technology.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable Operations Delivery

  • Manage end‑to‑end accounts payable operations, including invoice intake, validation, exception resolution, payment processing, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee supplier setup support and vendor inquiry resolution in partnership with Procurement and Finance.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of invoices and payments.

Service Delivery & Performance Management

  • Own day‑to‑day service delivery for AP operations, ensuring performance against defined SLAs, KPIs, and quality standards.
  • Monitor volumes, cycle times, backlog, and accuracy to ensure stable and predictable operations.
  • Identify trends, root causes, and corrective actions for service issues and escalations.

Controls, Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, payment terms, tax requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Support audits, control testing, and remediation activities by providing documentation, data, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain strong governance across AP processes to mitigate operational and compliance risk.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to standardize, streamline, and automate AP processes.
  • Partner with the Director and Technology teams on system enhancements, defect resolution, and automation initiatives.
  • Improve reporting, data accuracy, and visibility for AP operational performance.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner closely with U.S.‑based Finance, Tax, Procurement, and Technology teams to ensure smooth handoffs and issue resolution.
  • Communicate effectively across time zones to manage expectations and deliver consistent service.

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop AP team members and team leads in PFI India.
  • Manage performance, coaching, training, and knowledge transfer to support a scalable delivery model.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable or finance operations.
  • 3–5 years of people leadership experience, including leading teams in an offshore or shared services environment.
  • Strong understanding of AP processes, controls, and enterprise financial systems.
  • Experience supporting U.S.‑based stakeholders and operating across time zones.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
