About Our Team
eBay's Shared Services within the Finance organization is a dynamic and innovative division responsible for running money movement operations across the global eBay platform. Accounts Payable processes 110k+ invoices for over $4.6B annually for eBay globally. As we establish our P2P operations in Bangalore, this hub will serve as a critical center for operational excellence and global process migration.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Manager of Accounts Payable to lead day-to-day Procure-to-Pay operations. Reporting to the Director of P2P, Billing, and Analytics, you will oversee the end-to-end P2P lifecycle. Your global hybrid team consists of a direct subordinate in Bangalore, a dotted-line report in Austin (US), and a third-party vendor partner. This role focuses on ensuring operational stability in our Bangalore hub, resolving process critical issues, and assisting the Director with M&A integrations and process migrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Oversight & Quality Assurance: Manage end-to-end global P2P processes to ensure operational excellence, accuracy, and compliance. Perform quality assurance reviews of 3rd-party partners to ensure invoices and payments are processed in accordance with standard operating procedures and SOX controls.
- Critical issue & Exception Handling: Act as the first point of contact for complex issues, urgent payments, and vendor disputes that fall outside the normal automated workflow.
- Transition & M&A Support: Assist the Director in the migration and scaling of P2P functions to the Bangalore hub. Help set up P2P processes and systems for newly acquired companies to align them with global standards.
- Vendor & Team Management: Manage the daily performance of our third-party service provider (SLA monitoring). Directly lead one direct report in Bangalore and provide guidance to a dotted-line report in Austin.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure all activities follow internal policies and global audit requirements. Oversee 1099 transmissions (US), Duty to UK reporting, and provide required data for SEC reporting as needed.
- e-Invoicing & Process Improvement: Support the implementation of e-Invoicing solutions. Proactively identify and resolve issues using innovative solutions and AI to improve efficiency, reducing manual efforts in Accounts Payable processes.
- Analysis and Reporting: Conduct comprehensive data analysis to support strategic decision-making and deliver actionable insights to management.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5-7 years in Finance/Accounting, with a deep focus on the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle and global financial operations.
- Leadership: Proven track record leading direct reports and/or external BPO partners. Experience in matrix or dotted-line reporting environments is highly valued.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP (ECC or S4 Hana) and Microsoft Office Suite, with a high degree of adaptability to new financial technologies.
- Analytical & Communication: Strong ability to derive actionable insights from complex data sets and act as a strategic liaison across global departments.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Finance is required (M.Com or MBA is a plus).
