Job Description

Job Title: Senior Manager – Accounts Payable

Experience Required: 7–8 years

Location: Gurgaon

Role Overview:

The Senior Manager – Accounts Payable will lead the end-to-end AP function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, vendor management, compliance, and process improvements. The role demands strong leadership, stakeholder management, and deep expertise in AP systems and workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the complete Accounts Payable cycle, including invoice processing, payments, reconciliations, and vendor management.
  • Manage daily AP operations and ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
  • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities related to AP.
  • Lead and mentor the AP team; ensure workload distribution, performance management, and
  • capability development.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs such as TAT, accuracy, payment aging, GR/IR reconciliation, and vendor query resolution.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, automation, and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Treasury, Compliance, and Business Finance.
  • Ensure vendor master data accuracy and safeguard vendor due diligence and onboarding processes.
  • Review and approve high-value invoices, payments, and exceptions.
  • Manage audits (statutory, internal, SOX/compliance) and provide necessary documentation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Ensure tax compliance (GST, TDS, etc.) and support related reconciliations.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning related to AP.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA/CA preferred.
  • 7–8 years of experience in Accounts Payable with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of AP accounting, tax compliance, vendor processes, and audit requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite or similar).
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage high-volume AP operations.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage tight timelines and work in a fast-paced environment.

Good to Have:

  • Exposure to automation tools (RPA, OCR, workflow systems).
  • Experience in shared services or fast-growth environments.
