The Role: Accounts Assistant
We're looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our finance team.
This role is about:
- Assisting in day-to-day accounting operations
- Supporting month-end closing and reconciliation activities
- Coordinating with clients and internal teams for accurate accounting
- Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and standards
What You'll Be Doing
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Assist in processing vendor invoices, payments, and expense entries
- Support preparation and monitoring of customer invoices and receipts
- Help track outstanding payables and receivables and follow up when required
Month-End Closing Support
- Assist in month-end closing activities including journal entries and schedules
- Support preparation of reports and documentation required for closing
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned closing tasks
Reconciliation Activities
- Assist in bank, vendor, customer, and general ledger reconciliations
- Identify discrepancies and coordinate with seniors for resolution
- Maintain reconciliation records and supporting documentation
Client Management Support
- Assist in coordinating with clients for invoices, statements, and queries
- Support communication related to billing, collections, and reconciliations
- Ensure timely responses to client-related accounting requests
Accounting & Compliance Support
- Maintain proper accounting records as per internal controls
- Assist in audit preparation by organizing data and documents
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
What You Must Have
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Good working knowledge of accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Good communication skills for internal and client coordination
Good to Have
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
- Prior experience (4-8 years) in an accounting or finance support role
