Accounting & Reporting - Delivery manager

Your role and responsibilities:

The Delivery Manager - Finance Reporting Teamis a senior leadership role at the forefront of ABB's global Finance Reporting and Record-to-Report (R2R) function, responsible for driving strategic vision, operational excellence, and finance transformation across a high-performing team of 450+ professionals in 90+ countries. Supporting 300+ reporting units, this role ensures the complete, accurate, and timely execution of critical accounting activities, including month-end close, consolidation, management reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit support. As a trusted advisor to senior finance stakeholders worldwide, the Delivery Manager will champion R2R strategy, oversee compliance with internal and external requirements, and lead initiatives that elevate performance across multiple time zones and shifts-requiring exceptional leadership, deep expertise in R2R processes, and the ability to deliver sustainable impact on ABB's global finance operations.

The work model for the role is Hybrid.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Global R2R Leadership: Co-lead ABB's global Record-to-Report (R2R) function and finance reporting strategy in partnership with the Global Delivery Head, setting vision and direction across 90+ countries.
• Finance Transformation: Drive the development and execution of ABB's R2R transformation roadmap, championing modernization, automation, and adoption of emerging finance technologies.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations of a 400+ member global team across multiple shifts and geographies, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent month-end close for 300+ reporting units.
• Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to IFRS, local GAAP, and ABB accounting policies lead balance sheet reconciliations, audit readiness, and robust quality assurance processes.
• Talent & Team Development: Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing global finance workforce, driving succession planning, career development, and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as trusted advisor to the CFO and senior finance leaders, presenting R2R updates, building strong stakeholder relationships, and aligning initiatives with ABB's broader finance agenda.
• Performance & Innovation: Define and monitor critical R2R metrics, optimize productivity and cost efficiency, and lead innovation initiatives in analytics, automation, and process redesign.

• Professional Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce, with a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification from ICAI, ICAA, or an equivalent globally recognized body (mandatory).
• Extensive Experience: 15+ years of progressive expertise in Record-to-Report (R2R), financial accounting, and reporting, including 10+ years in multinational or shared services environments.
• Leadership Impact: Proven track record of 7+ years in senior leadership roles, managing large teams (50+ people) across geographies, with responsibility for global finance operations.
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of month-end/year-end close, consolidation, reconciliations, accruals, journal entry controls, IFRS, and multiple GAAP standards, with strong audit and compliance experience.
• Digital & Process Transformation: Demonstrated success in leading finance transformation initiatives, ERP system proficiency (SAP/Oracle), process automation (RPA, AI), and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
