Job Description

About the Role

Office Beacon is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager – US Accounting to lead offshore accounting operations supporting U.S.-based clients.

This role combines U.S. accounting expertise, people management, financial reporting, client management, and operational leadership. You will manage a team of accounting professionals, oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP, and maintain strong relationships with U.S.-based clients.

The ideal candidate has substantial hands-on experience in U.S. accounting and accounting outsourcing, shared services, or client-delivery environments, along with proven experience managing accounting teams.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage a team of approximately 10–20 accounting professionals.
  • Set team KPIs, allocate workloads, monitor productivity, and manage performance.
  • Coach team members and support professional development and succession planning.
  • Promote accountability, quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Client Management

  • Serve as a primary client-facing contact for assigned U.S. accounting engagements.
  • Manage regular communication with U.S.-based clients and understand their accounting requirements.
  • Resolve client concerns, escalations, and service-delivery issues.
  • Monitor delivery against agreed timelines and service expectations.
  • Build strong, long-term client relationships.

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Oversee preparation and review of Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow reports.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Review reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure financial reporting is accurate and aligned with U.S. GAAP.
  • Identify and resolve accounting issues before client delivery.

Quality & Audit Support

  • Review accounting work for technical accuracy and completeness.
  • Establish quality-control processes to reduce errors.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit requirements.
  • Support compliance reviews and audit requests.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and supporting schedules are maintained.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain standardized SOPs.
  • Strengthen accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives.

Capacity & Management Reporting

  • Monitor team capacity, workload, productivity, and resource requirements.
  • Allocate resources to meet client deadlines and business priorities.
  • Prepare MIS reports, operational dashboards, and management reports.
  • Present team performance, operational metrics, risks, and capacity updates to leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of professional experience in U.S. accounting.
  • Experience supporting U.S.-based clients in an accounting outsourcing, shared-services, or client-delivery environment.
  • 2–3+ years of direct people-management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and U.S. accounting practices.
  • Hands-on experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.
  • Strong financial reporting and account reconciliation experience.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, or another major accounting/ERP platform.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proven client and stakeholder management experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership of accounting accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site in Vadodara during the assigned U.S. PST shift.
Preferred Qualifications
  • U.S. CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Experience with internal controls and audit coordination.
  • Experience developing SOPs and improving accounting processes.
  • Experience implementing accounting automation or workflow improvements.
  • Experience presenting operational or financial metrics to leadership.
