We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Officer to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in accounting within a dynamic SME environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Prepare and issue customer invoices.
- Monitor customer payments and outstanding receivables.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and maintain accurate debtor records.
- Perform customer account reconciliations.
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process supplier invoices accurately and promptly.
- Prepare payment vouchers and process supplier payments.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain proper supporting documentation.
General Accounting
- Perform accounting data entry and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with bank reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain proper accounting schedules and documentation.
- Ensure accounting records are complete and up to date.
Payroll & Compliance Support
- Assist in payroll preparation and CPF submissions.
- Support GST preparation and statutory reporting.
- Prepare documents required for audits and financial reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
Administrative Support
- Maintain proper filing of finance documents.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets and correspondence as required.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors and external parties on finance-related matters.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Candidates with 1-3 years of accounting experience will have an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, MYOB or Xero) is an advantage.
- Meticulous, organised and able to work independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
