Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced
Chartered Accountant to lead accounting operations within our Shared Services Center. The role requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, process optimization, international reporting standards, and the ability to lead finance-related projects. The incumbent will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting activities for multiple entities in compliance with local and international financial regulations, while also driving strategic initiatives and special projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations for entities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany, and fixed assets.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and reporting.
- Review and ensure compliance with local GAAPs and local statutory requirements of the respective overseas jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with local finance teams, external auditors, tax consultants, and internal stakeholders for audits, tax filings, and other compliance matters.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency across the shared services platform.
- Lead and manage finance-related projects such as process transitions, ERP implementations, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.
- Take ownership of special tasks and cross-functional initiatives delegated by senior management, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business goals.
- Provide leadership in the design and rollout of internal controls, process documentation, and SOPs for overseas accounting functions.
- Develop and monitor KPIs and SLAs for accounting service delivery.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior accounting team members within the shared services.
- Manage accounting controls and ensure adherence to internal control frameworks and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 5 to 7 years of post-qualification experience in accounting and financial operations.
- Proven track record in project management, including cross-functional initiatives and process improvement projects.
- Strong understanding of international accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with cross-cultural teams and in a matrix reporting structure.
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience in a shared services or multinational environment, preferably in the Agri-trading, commodity sector.
- Exposure to commodity processing and handling large greenfield or brownfield expansion.
- Hands-on experience in leading process transitions and standardization projects.
- Project management certifications are a plus.
- Strong leadership, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
- Continuous improvement of mindset and ability to manage change.
- Ability to work in multiple time zone alignment, if required like during audit etc
