Job Summary
An Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and supporting financial operations within an organization. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial software. The Accountant will work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and help with decision-making.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record keeping:- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, balance sheets, and income statements.
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts.
Financial Reporting:- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and regulatory agencies.
Tax Preparation:- Prepare and file taxes in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist with audits and respond to tax-related inquiries.
Budgeting and Forecasting:- Assist in preparing and monitoring the company's budget.
- Forecast financial performance and provide insights for cost reduction and profitability improvement.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments and collections.
- Coordinate with vendors and clients regarding billing and payments.
Financial Analysis:- Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.
- Provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
Compliance and Auditing:- Ensure financial operations comply with company policies, laws, and regulations.
- Assist in internal and external audits.
Software and Tools:- Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) to record transactions, generate reports, and track financial activities.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, human resources) to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Provide financial information and support to management for decision-making.
Skills And Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel) and strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret financial data.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and take initiative to resolve financial discrepancies.
