Accountant (Start-Up)

This is an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join a newly established joint venture within the textile and manufacturing sector. This role offers the rare chance to become a foundational member of the business, supporting the setup of finance operations, governance frameworks and reporting processes while partnering closely with senior leadership as the organisation scales.

Description

As the Accountant, you will play a critical role in establishing and managing the finance function for the business.

Responsibilities Include

• Manage the full spectrum of accounting activities, including AP, AR and General Ledger
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations between related entities
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants and external service providers
• Support the implementation and enhancement of finance processes, controls and reporting frameworks as the business grows
  
  

Profile

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline
• 5+ years of accounting and finance experience
• Hands-on experience managing full sets of accounts
• Strong understanding of month-end close, financial reporting and statutory compliance
• Experience working with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Ability to work independently within a growing and evolving environment
• Comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders and supporting business growth initiatives
• Prior experience within textile or retail or start-up environments will be advantageous
• Exposure to finance systems implementation or process improvement initiatives will be highly regarded
• Proficient in Mandarin as the role requires communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
