Job Title: Accountant – Tally & Inventory Specialist
Location: Bangalore
Experience: 2–5 Years
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with strong expertise in Tally Prime, inventory management, and statutory compliance. This role goes beyond traditional accounting and requires an individual who can handle end-to-end financial operations, including procurement tracking, stock movement, compliance filings, and management reporting. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently managing accounting functions while also supporting leadership with meaningful financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for managing complete accounting operations in Tally Prime, including recording all financial transactions such as purchases, sales, receipts, payments, and journal entries, while ensuring accuracy and proper classification. In addition to core accounting, the role involves maintaining detailed and structured inventory records within Tally, covering stock creation, inward and outward movement, consumption tracking, and reconciliation with physical stock.
The role also requires hands-on involvement in the procurement cycle, including requesting quotations from vendors, evaluating and finalizing vendors, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring proper recording of purchases along with documentation such as Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs). Similarly, on the sales side, the candidate should be capable of generating Proforma Invoices, Tax Invoices, and Delivery Challans, and ensuring proper accounting and documentation of all sales transactions.
From a compliance perspective, the candidate will be responsible for GST filings on a monthly and annual basis, including reconciliation of GST data (such as books vs GSTR-2B), ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and handling any discrepancies or notices if required. The role also includes managing TDS compliance, including deduction, filing of returns, revision of returns where necessary, and handling challan corrections or refund processes.
Additionally, the candidate will handle statutory compliance such as Professional Tax (PT) and Provident Fund (PF) filings, ensuring all deadlines are met without fail. Maintaining proper documentation is a critical part of this role, including systematic organization of purchase invoices, sales invoices, expense bills, employee reimbursements, and all supporting documents required for audits and internal reviews.
The candidate will also work closely with the Finance Manager and CEO in preparing MIS reports, financial summaries, and other analytical reports, contributing to better decision-making. This includes supporting audits, preparing data for financial reviews, and ensuring overall financial discipline within the organization.
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Tally Prime, including both accounting and inventory modules. A solid understanding of GST, TDS, PT, and PF compliance is essential, along with practical experience in filing returns and performing reconciliations. The candidate should also have experience in handling procurement and sales documentation processes end-to-end.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory, and the candidate should be comfortable working with data, performing basic analysis, and preparing reports. Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities within timelines are critical for success in this role.
Preferred Candidate Profile
We will give strong preference to candidates who demonstrate smart working abilities and familiarity with AI tools that can improve efficiency in accounting, reporting, and compliance processes. Candidates who can automate repetitive tasks, optimize workflows, and bring process improvements will stand out.
Experience in working with inventory-driven or manufacturing businesses, exposure to audits, and a basic understanding of financial reporting and MIS will be an added advantage.
What We Offer
This role provides an opportunity to gain end-to-end exposure in finance and operations, working closely with senior management. The candidate will have the chance to build a strong foundation in accounting, compliance, and business finance while contributing directly to the organization's growth.
