Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Mumbai. The Accountant will handle day-to-day financial accounting, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and preparing vouchers and invoices. Responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, and assisting in monthly and annual closing of accounts. The role involves preparing financial reports, supporting budgeting and cost tracking for construction projects, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations. The Accountant will collaborate with project managers and procurement staff to track project expenses and support audits and statutory filings.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in financial accounting, including ledger management, journal entries, and reconciliation activities.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP systems, or similar) and solid skills in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of taxation, GST, TDS, and relevant Indian accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and documentation for audits.
- Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with finance, project, and procurement teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (CA Inter, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in construction or infrastructure sectors is preferred but not mandatory.
