Job Description

Company: Living Timeless

Location: Pune

Industry: Modular Furniture / Interior Manufacturing

Employment Type: Full-time

Living Timeless is looking for a commercially strong Accountant / Finance Executive who can manage core accounting while also owning P&L visibility, MIS, project profitability, cash flow, receivables, payables, and cost control.

This is not a pure bookkeeping role. We need someone who can convert accounting data into clear financial insights for management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts
  • Prepare and review monthly P&L statements
  • Build project-wise and showroom-wise P&L
  • Track revenue, COGS, gross margin, operating expenses, EBITDA and profitability
  • Analyse budget vs actual performance
  • Identify margin leakage, cost overruns and unusual expenses
  • Track project-level:
  • Revenue booked
  • Collections
  • Material cost
  • Manufacturing cost
  • Installation cost
  • Logistics
  • Discounts
  • Rework / snag costs
  • Gross profit
  • Contribution margin
  • Prepare weekly and monthly management MIS
  • Maintain cash-flow forecasts and upcoming payment requirements
  • Track customer receivables and ageing
  • Track vendor payables and payment schedules
  • Monitor purchase advances and vendor reconciliations
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Manage GST, TDS and statutory accounting requirements
  • Coordinate with CA and auditors
  • Verify purchase invoices, POs and payment approvals
  • Track factory, showroom and corporate overheads separately
  • Maintain machinery, fixed-asset and capex accounting
  • Support payroll, incentives and reimbursements
  • Develop financial controls to prevent duplicate, incorrect or unauthorized payments

P&L Ownership

The person should be comfortable preparing and explaining:

Revenue

Less: Material / Procurement Cost

Less: Manufacturing Cost

Less: Installation & Logistics

= Gross Profit

Less: Sales & Marketing

Less: Showroom Expenses

Less: Factory Overheads

Less: Salaries & Admin

= EBITDA

They should be able to clearly explain why profitability moved month-on-month, not simply produce the report.

Management Reporting

Expected reporting should include:

  • Monthly consolidated P&L
  • Project-wise profitability
  • Showroom-wise profitability
  • Factory cost report
  • Gross-margin trends
  • Marketing spend vs revenue
  • Payroll as % of revenue
  • Fixed vs variable costs
  • Receivable ageing
  • Payable ageing
  • Cash-flow forecast
  • Budget vs actual
  • Capex tracker
  • Revenue booked vs revenue collected
  • Upcoming financial liabilities

What We Expect

We want someone who proactively flags:

Gross margin has dropped from 42% to 35% this month.

This project has exceeded its installation budget.

Material cost on this category is running above target.

X is receivable but overdue.

Factory overhead has increased faster than revenue.

This showroom is generating revenue but is not yet contribution-positive.

Based on upcoming vendor payments and collections, we will require X cash over the next 30 days.

Candidate Profile

  • B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / equivalent
  • 3–6+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of P&L, MIS, cost accounting and financial analysis
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with Tally / ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of GST and TDS
  • Experience in manufacturing, furniture, interiors, construction or project-based businesses preferred
  • Comfortable working directly with founders and senior management
  • Strong attention to detail with a commercial mindset

Most Important Trait

We are not looking for someone who only asks:

Has this invoice been entered

We want someone who also asks:

Why did we spend this money, which project does it belong to, what margin are we making, and what does this do to the P&L
