Accountant
The Accountant is primarily responsible for overseeing month-end closing activities, preparing financial reports and analyses, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses accurately and on time
- Process journal entries and account reconciliations using Sage X3 and/or BlackLine
- Manage Fixed Assets accounting, including capitalization, disposals, depreciation schedules, and policy compliance
- Support budgeting activities and cash flow forecasting
- Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory financial reports
- Identify and recommend improvements to finance processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies
- Coordinate with tax agents and local authorities on compliance and audit matters
- Work closely with external auditors to facilitate audit processes and timely statutory filings
- Perform additional duties and ad-hoc assignments as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA or CIMA
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Accounting & Finance experience, preferably within Manufacturing or Logistics industries
- Experience in process improvement or optimization initiatives is an added advantage
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, self-driven, and accountable with good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
