About The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Chartered Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will own end-to-end accounting operations, ensure statutory and tax compliance, and partner with cross-functional teams to keep our financial engine running smoothly. Roles & Responsibilities

Accounting & Statutory Compliance

▸ Maintain, prepare, and review books of accounts, including bookkeeping, fixed assets register, and supplier records.

▸ Ensure timely finalization of accounts in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

▸ Oversee management of fixed assets — additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.

Direct & Indirect Taxation

▸ Handle end-to-end compliance for Direct Tax (TDS, Advance Tax, Income Tax) and Indirect Tax (GST) — including accurate computation and timely filing within due dates.

▸ Track regulatory changes and assess their impact on company tax positions; proactively flag and mitigate compliance risks.

Payroll, Reimbursements & Reconciliations

▸ Assist in monthly payroll processing, employee reimbursements, and expense validation.

▸ Perform periodic financial reconciliations — bank, ledger, and inter-departmental — to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

▸ Prepare and present monthly financial reports — P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow summaries — aligned with departmental and vertical-level performance requirements.

▸ Identify variances and provide meaningful commentary to support leadership decision-making.

Vendor Management

▸ Own end-to-end vendor management — onboarding, documentation, payment processing, and ongoing coordination.

▸ Ensure all vendor-related transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner.

Process Improvement & Internal Controls

▸ Research and implement industry best practices suited to EduFund's scale and operating environment.

▸ Identify and resolve internal timing delays and scrutiny gaps in financial operations to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance

▸ Liaise with Credit, Operations, Service, and Legal teams to ensure documentary compliance and seamless delivery to customers.

▸ Build trust-based relationships across departments and external stakeholders throughout the underwriting and loan lifecycle.

▸ Operate strictly in accordance with applicable laws, lending regulations, and internal compliance guidelines.

What We're Looking For

▸ Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) — non-negotiable.

▸ 3–4 years of hands-on post-qualification experience in accounting and finance roles.

▸ Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory compliances.

▸ Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, or equivalent) and MS Excel.

▸ High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.

▸ Experience in a fintech, NBFC, or lending environment is a plus.

▸ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work across cross-functional teams.
