Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an Accountant at Building Doctor Madurai. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling bank, GST filling and account statements. The role involves preparing invoices, tracking accounts receivable and accounts payable, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and from customers. The Accountant will assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing, prepare financial reports, and support budgeting and forecasting activities. The position also includes ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations, coordinating with internal teams and external auditors, and recommending process improvements for better financial accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Strong core accounting skills, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
  • Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable management, including invoicing, payment tracking, and collections.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and basic financial analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Comfort with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar tools; advanced Excel skills preferred).
  • Solid understanding of local tax rules, compliance requirements, and standard accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines remotely.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA/CPA/ACCA in progress or completed) are an advantage.
  • Prior experience in construction, real estate, or service-based businesses is a plus, as well as familiarity with multi-location operations.
  • Need experience in GST filling.
