Job Overview:
Application House is looking for a qualified Accountant based in India to manage accounting operations and statutory compliance for businesses operating in India and the United Kingdom.
The role will initially start as part-time, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position as responsibilities grow.
The accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, managing accounting software, and completing government filings and regulatory submissions in both jurisdictions.
The successful candidate will manage accounting records, government filings, tax compliance, and financial reporting for multiple business activities including software business operations, investments, and real estate projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain company accounts and financial records.
Manage GST filings, payroll, and Indian government tax submissions.
Handle UK accounting compliance including VAT, Corporation Tax, and Self-Assessment.
Prepare and manage Company Accounts and filings with Companies House.
Maintain shareholding records and company financial documents.
Assist with financial planning, investment tracking, and budgeting.
Manage accounting activities for multiple group companies.
Maintain accurate accounting records, ledgers, and financial reports
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping including invoices, expenses, and payments
Perform bank reconciliations and maintain financial documentation
Manage accounting using Sage Accounting Plus
Maintain accounting records for multiple companies and business activities
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
Monitor company cash flow and financial performance
Support budgeting and financial planning activities
India Government Filings & Compliance:
Prepare and submit GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual GST return)
Handle Income Tax filings and TDS returns
Manage payroll compliance including EPF and ESIC filings
Handle Professional Tax and other statutory filings where applicable
Manage company filings with Ministry of Corporate Affairs including AOC-4, MGT-7 (annual return), DIR-3 KYC and other ROC filings and compliance
UK Government Compliance:
Prepare and submit VAT returns and compliance filings with HM Revenue & Customs
Prepare Corporation Tax returns and company accounts
Manage PAYE payroll filings including RTI submissions
Support Self Assessment tax returns where required
Handle company filings with Companies House including Confirmation Statement, director updates, and shareholding updates
Required Skills:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Experience with Sage Accounting Plus
Experience with Tally preferred
Strong knowledge of Indian tax regulations including GST, TDS, and payroll compliance
Understanding of UK tax and compliance requirements including VAT and Corporation Tax
Ability to manage multiple companies and financial records
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to meet statutory deadlines and regulatory requirements
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent accounting qualification
Knowledge of Indian tax system (GST, payroll, government filings).
Knowledge of UK accounting and tax filings.
Ability to manage accounts for multiple companies.
Practical experience working with Indian and UK accounting systems and government filings.
Experience with accounting software such as Sage or Tally.
Ability to work independently and manage financial operations remotely.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Experience is flexible: candidates with practical knowledge of India and UK tax systems are encouraged to apply.
