Key Responsibilities:-
Role Overview
The Head of Accounts & Finance will be responsible for end-to-end financial management, statutory compliance, cost control, budgeting, MIS reporting, and internal controls. The role requires a hands-on leader who can manage accounting operations, taxation, audits, ERP systems, and business finance while supporting management with actionable financial insights.
This position is ideal for a CA professional with manufacturing, shared services, plant finance, and audit background, capable of bridging finance with business operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and GL
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual closure of books in compliance with accounting standards
- Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, and reconciliations
- Finalization of accounts and coordination with statutory and internal auditors
2. Budgeting, MIS & Cost Control
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and periodic variance analysis
- Prepare monthly MIS reports for management covering profitability, cost trends, and KPIs
- Perform product / project / plant-wise cost and margin analysis
- Implement cost optimization and control measures across operations
3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, Income Tax, TDS, and other statutory requirements
- Review and file GST returns, tax audits, income tax returns, and related reconciliations
- Liaise with tax consultants and authorities for assessments, audits, and notices
- Manage direct and indirect tax planning to optimize tax efficiency
4. Audit & Internal Controls
- Handle statutory audit, internal audit, tax audit, and cost audit
- Design, implement, and monitor internal financial controls (IFC)
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
- Act as the primary point of contact for auditors and regulatory bodies
5. ERP & Systems Management
- Strong involvement in ERP systems (SAP / NetSuite / Tally / Qlik / Anaplan)
- Ensure accurate accounting, provisioning, and reporting through ERP
- Support system improvements, UAT, and finance process automation
- Coordinate with IT and cross-functional teams for system integration
6. Business & Stakeholder Support
- Partner with sales, operations, plant, and supply chain teams for financial decision-making
- Support customer contracts, pricing, credit control, and revenue assurance
- Manage customer and vendor reconciliations and dispute resolution
- Provide financial insights to leadership for strategic planning
7. Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounts and finance team members
- Allocate work, review outputs, and ensure adherence to timelines
- Establish SOPs and best practices across finance functions
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory
- B.Com or equivalent degree
Experience
- 6–12 years of post-qualification experience (flexible based on industry)
- Exposure to manufacturing / plant finance / shared services / audit firms
- Hands-on experience in ERP-driven accounting environments
